New Racing Club Warwick Academy FC Team To Launch Next Year
Racing Club Warwick is excited to announce plans to launch a new Racing Club Warwick Academy FC Team within the next 12 months as part of the club’s long-term football development strategy.
The new side is being created with one clear objective:
To bridge the gap between academy football and senior football and accelerate the development of young players towards Step 3 football and beyond.
As the club’s academy continues to grow, the next challenge is ensuring talented young players are exposed to the demands of the men’s game at an earlier stage while continuing to receive the critical daily coaching, tactical, physical, and educational development provided within the academy environment.
The club believes combining:
- daily academy training,
- strength and conditioning,
- tactical development,
- education,
- and regular men’s football
is the most effective way to prepare young players for higher levels of non-league football.
Following Proven Development Models
Across the country, some of the most successful football and education programmes, including those at Loughborough University and Hartpury University, have shown the importance of combining elite daily training with competitive senior football.
These programmes have consistently produced players capable of progressing into the professional and higher non-league game because they expose players to:
- high-level coaching every day,
- structured physical development,
- and the realities of senior football at a young age.
Racing Club Warwick believes Racing Club Warwick Academy FC can provide a similar development pathway locally, giving players the opportunity to continue their education while gaining invaluable men’s football experience within a competitive environment.
Bridging The Biggest Gap In Football Development
One of the biggest challenges in modern football is the transition between youth football and senior football.
While academy football is important for technical development, the physicality, intensity, game management, and consistency required in men’s football can only truly be developed through regular senior match experience.
Racing Club Warwick Academy FC is being created specifically to bridge that gap.
The new side will allow academy players, particularly second- and third-year students, as well as future higher education students, to experience competitive men’s football on a weekly basis while remaining fully integrated within the club’s academy structure.
The aim is to develop players capable of progressing into higher-level football more quickly, including the long-term ambition of preparing players for Step 3 football and ultimately the first team at Racing Club Warwick.
A Complete Football Pathway
The introduction of Racing Club Warwick Academy FC will further strengthen the club’s player pathway:
- Junior Football
- Academy Football
- Racing Club Warwick Academy FC
- First Team Football
This structure will provide young players with a clear route through the club while ensuring they continue developing within the Racing Club Warwick football philosophy.
Supporting The Future Of The Club
The project forms part of the wider development plans currently taking place across the club, including:
- new changing room facilities,
- academy classrooms,
- player welfare and medical areas,
- and the continued expansion of the academy programme.
The club sees Racing Club Warwick Academy FC as a major step forward in creating a modern football development environment that combines education, elite daily training, and meaningful men’s football experience.
With plans to launch next year, Racing Club Warwick Academy FC represents another exciting stage in the continued growth and ambition of Racing Club Warwick.
