Racing Club Warwick returned to winning ways at home to Lye Town with a hard fought 3-2 victory.
After the poor showing on Saturday Racing started the game with Josh Cole returning in midfield and Ryan Boothe up top alongside Muzzy Nduna. An even first few minutes saw Lye come close before long range efforts from Racing's Chris Johnston and Nduna but it was the visitors who opened the scoring on 14 with Cresswell finishing well after some excellent play. Adam Miles almost equalised but took just too long and the keeper saved well. Mzungwana was fouled on the edge of the box right on half time and up stepped Danny Fraser to curl a beautiful effort in.
Second half and Racing stepped up a gear and both sides had a few long range efforts before a long ball saw Adam Miles head back for Josh Cole who controlled and unleashed a stunner on 65 minutes. Miles then latched onto a long ball and brought it down well and the keeper appeared to bring him down but the ref waved play on. Lye immediately punished Racing when the impressive Mark Magee slotted home after a fine squared pass from the right. Racing then went straight up the other end and Nduna did well on the right before feeding Jarrell Hylton who clipped the ball home to the delight of the home contingent.
Racing travel to Coventry Sphinx on Bank Holiday Monday before hosting Bridgnorth in the FA Vase on Saturday 31st August.
