Racing Club Warwick lost ground in their promotion push as a second half capitulation saw a deserved win for Brocton on Saturday.
With Luke Cole and Lewis Hayden missing through suspension and George Curry, Alex Price, Chris Johnson amongst the missing personnel the Racing bench was left looking sparce.
On an atrociously windy afternoon Racing quickly got into gear and a delightful finish by Trea Bertie after rounding the keeper to thunder home from a tight angle on seven minutes. Ben Mackey then had a glorious opportunity to double the lead on fifteen minutes from the penalty spot but after several attempts to keep the ball still on the spot appeared to rush the eventual shot and the keeper saved well with his feet. Mackey then produced a stunning cross for Bertie but the keeper saved well.
Racing were punished just a few minutes later when a fantastic drive from distance by McGrady drew the visitors level on nineteen. Racing responded and a collected finish by Danny Bartle at the far post after a fabulous cross from Henry Leaver saw the hosts regain the lead against the wind.
Second half and with the wind behind them Racing would surely get back to wining ways after faltering in recent weeks? Mackey came close to extending the lead after turning strongly to fire into the side netting. Brocton looked dangerous on the break and played the wind superbly and were rewarded with the equaliser on 68 minutes after a terrible mix-up in the Racing area. Just a a few minutes later and they took the lead when Kimmins hit the target to the dismay of the Racing support. The game was put out of reach on 84 when Riggon fired home from close range to severely dent Racing hopes.
Mackey had the ball in the net late on but was adjudged offside.
Racing travel to Chelmsley on Saturday.
