Warwick in commanding display on the road

Racing Club Warwick played their first away game in over a month and took their recent good form with them in a commanding 0-4 result away at Paget Rangers. Rangers, who had already tested Racers at Townsend Meadow this season in a hard fought 1-0 win for Warwick, were in fine form themselves and on their artificial surface it looked like a stern test. Good football from both sides from the start but it was Warwick who looked the more likely to break the deadlock. Both Luke Cole and Sean Kavanagh hit the bar in the first ten minutes and Warwick had another effort cleared off the line before a pinpoint Slevin corner picked out Cole to fire home on 38 minutes. Jamie Coleman making his debut having made the move from Coventry United, was a commanding presence alongside the impressive Marc Passey, and it was his delightful through ball that set Carter racing through and his calm finish doubled the Racers lead on 57. Kavanagh got the third with a lovely Price assist and the game was wrapped up when Luke Church fired in a cross that Adam Knight headed goal-wards and onto the defenders hand. Slevin tucked away the penalty and Warwick took all three points home and kept another clean sheet which would have pleased the management team.

Racing face Nuneaton Griff on Saturday in what will be an emotional day with a tribute to Racing Stalwart Gabby Hayes who recently passed away.
