Racing Club Warwick drew at home again in a game that will be remembered as a bad tempered second half affair. Warwick started slowly and Cadbury took the lead on eleven minutes with a wonderful free-kick hitting the angle of bar and post before hitting the opposite side of the net just inside. This woke Warwick up and headers from Malley and Checketts went close and Malley fired over when one on one with the keeper. On thirty minutes Vadasz (pictured) cut inside and fired a shot against the Cadbury defenders hand for which the referee indicated handball. Martin Slevin stepped up but his shot was well saved by the Cadbury stopper. Racing lost Captain Reynolds just before half time and he was replaced by Turton. Second half and Warwick had most possession and Vadasz fired wide and Brown forced a good stop from the keeper. Cadbury hit the post before McKenzie struck a post for Warwick and on the 60th minute a fantastic run and cross from Vadasz was turned in by the defender. Inexplicably, Racing immediately went behind again when Dowling rushed out and mistimed a clearance and despite Turton's last gasp tackle the forward steered the ball into the net, recovering first to the loose ball. Warwick were reduced to ten men when Checketts was given a straight red after allegedly tripping the Cadbury player but minutes later a second yellow for a Cadbury player evened things up personnel wise. Just as the game seemed to be slipping away from Racing, Malley chased down the ball which the keeper Francis collected before quite amazingly pushing Malley to the ground from behind. The referee booked Francis and Slevin tucked away the penalty. Francis then tested the referees tolerance levels and was shown a second yellow and reducing Cadbury to nine for the last few minutes.
