Racing Club Warwick added to their midweek win over league leaders Leicester Road with a hard fought win over an impressive Uttoxeter Town. Racing were stretched early doors with Uttoxeter playing some lovely passing football on a difficult pitch. The influential Buswell was forced off early with a hamstring problem and was replaced by Mannion who quickly formed a strong partnership with Checketts throughout. Price had a fine shot from 30 yards tipped over and Wright had a drilled shot saved before Checketts headed Warwick into a 25th minute lead from a corner. Just a few minutes later Uttoxeter equalised with Gadsby connecting superbly from a cross to head home. Just as halftime approached Wright played in Malley superbly to fire home to give the hosts the lead. Early second half and a loose ball was drilled home by Morton to put a cushion between the sides. The returning Smith almost made it 4 but the keeper edged the ball wide and despite some continued excellent pressure from the visitors, Racing were again well drilled and resolute to move onto 31 points.
