Racing Club Warwick edged out Studley despite wasting a whole host of opportunities. Malley, Smith and Hutchcox all had good opportunities in the first five minutes before a Price free-kick was well saved by the Studley stopper. A glancing header from Malley went agonisingly wide before Hutchcox again put a header just wide. Just when it looked like Studley had weathered a frightening storm and were getting back into the game, Smith broke free down the right and put in a great cross to the far past where Malley finally broke the deadlock from close range. Racing were dealt a blow minutes later when Buswell injured his knee and was substituted and then moments later Studley shocked everyone with Dan Stokes firing in a goal to equalise on the break from another Smith chance saved by the keeper. Racers keeper Caviezel-Cox was called into action twice more before half time as Studley started to come back into the game. Racing started the second half as they had the first with Laight forcing the keeper into a save before Smith relieved the Racers nerves firing home smartly from 20 yards after the ball came back out from a cleared corner. Brown, Morton, Smith and Malley had chances before Malley was taken off after a knock and Morton and Vadasz joined the list of missed efforts. The game was summed up when in the final minute Smith raced free from the last man, with the Studley keeper still in the Racing half after coming up for a corner, but his effort was spectacularly chased down and cleared off the line.
