Studley FC 1 Racing Club Warwick 2

Racing Club Warwick travelled the short distance to Studley for a tricky away tie against another side in good league form themselves.

Buoyed by the return of Trea Bertie and the midweek signing of Chris Johnston, Racing got off to a good start in the driving wind and rain with Jak Jeys causing early problems on the Studley right and it was Jeys who opened the scoring on 15 minutes. Picking up a ball from the games man of the match Rich Powell, Jeys cut inside before smashing past the Studley stopper.

The weather was hampering the football and the game turned quite scrappy and it took until the 65th minute for the games second goal. A cross from the right was cleverly headed back by Jeys onto the incoming Ben Mackey who took his time before guiding the ball into the far corner to keep his fabulous goal scoring run going on his 32nd birthday to warm the travelling 50 Warwick fans .

Studley gave themselves a chance just a few minutes later when a corner wasn't cleared and Palmer smashed home past Charlie Bannister. Bannister produced a fine save late on but Warwick comfortably held on and stay second with a tenth game unbeaten in the league.
