Racing moved up to fourth and three points from top with another super display against a Copeswood side who four weeks previously had knocked Warwick out of the cup on penalties. Warwick hadn't beaten Copeswood for a few years and it looked early doors as if the Hoodoo was still in place when a cast iron looking penalty was waved away after malley was scythed down and Smith and Wright missed one on one's with the keeper. Smith soon made amends though on five minutes when Wright set him up to fire home. Warwick continued to play good football with Price and Slevin pulling the strings and Smith causing a major headache to the left back. Copeswood were intent on disrupting Warwick with constant niggly fouls. Second half and Warwick were quickly back on the front foot. Brown came close after a mazy run bit fired at the keeper before Malley was upended in the penalty box for which Smith coolly despatched on 53. A few minutes later and a shot from Slevin after dropping a shoulder to beat two men looped off a defenders leg to put the game put of reach for Copeswood. The only concern now was the patchy fog and an abandonment but it stayed light enough to end the Copeswood Jinx and with good game management they saw the game out, especially after a red was shown to the Copeswood number eight. A late free kick goal spoiled the perfect away win but Warwick will be happy that another win Keeps them in the mix. MOM Alex Price
