A strong looking Racing Club Warwick traveled to Alcester Town for their fifth Pre-Season friendly and were too strong for their third division hosts. With players returning from summer breaks and to fitness and with new signings bedding in, Racing looked dominant from the off and a whipped in corner was headed goalwards by Checketts for Jamie Smith to nod home in the fourth minute. The Racers struck the woodwork twice before Smith scored a wonderful second. Brown sprayed the ball wide for Malley to send in an inch perfect cross for Smith to head powerfully home at the far post on fourteen. To give credit to Alcester this galvanised them and the first half was more even for periods. The start of the second half saw wholesale changes by Racing but it was Smith in the fifty first minute who marked a fine hatrick with a delightful chip from a tight angle edge of area after beating the keeper to the ball. Alcester pulled one back with a well worked goal scored from Chris Hill but Malley wrapped things up on seventy four with a stron run outpacing the defenders to prod home cooly . Vadasz and Novac were continually romping up field either wing and creating chances and Mackenzie was brought down after a good run but missed the resulting penalty. Morton fired over twice for Racing before Alcester pulled one back when a cross was deflected in for an own goal. Racing host Gornal on Saturday.
