What a year to be a Racer!

What a season it has been for this fantastic club! From the Mini Racers with huge numbers, through the junior teams with league and cup successes and players moving onto pro clubs to the youth and academy setup with the National League team being pipped on goal difference to the title! And, oh yes, promotion to step four and a Birmingham Cup Final against Aston Villa for the first team!!

What a play-off week that was with two huge crowds roaring us on to beat March and then Aylestone Park to gain that promotion. When I came in as chairman the plan was two promotions in five years once we had stabilised. With a fantastic team at board level, volunteers who have gold and black in their veins, superb management from Scott and his back-up team and a group of players that have performed with heart and soul, we are there - and we are not going to stop!

I would like to thank everyone who has been on this journey with us over the past season, the support has been amazing and we topped 300 average at home which is just incredible. With over 1,000 expected to travel to Villa Park on May 15th, what an end of season treat and party that will be for us all! Having beaten Solihull, Birmingham City and of course that great night against Leamington in the semi-final along the way, we should go into the game proud of our achievement as a step five club!

Again, for an eighth year in succession we have improved league position and our average attendances and with over 150 season ticket holders we look forward to improving again next season.

We are proud to be hosting six charity events over the summer raising a lot of money for various worthy charities so please keep a look out on social media.

As we move forward this summer we will start the building works for new changing rooms and classrooms which will allow us to add more community activity including girls and ladies football and disability groups. We also plan to increase ground capacity to 3,000 over the next two years and convert the clubhouse into a real sports bar open seven day's a week.

Exciting times for us all!

Have a great summer,
Gary UTR!
