Racing Club Warwick's five game unbeaten run came to an end at high flying Khalsa on Saturday.
Khalsa started brightly and Racing took some time to get used to the way the artificial pitch played. The Khalsa number nine was twice foiled by James Wardle in the Racing goal as they struggled to get the ball into their forwards to relieve the pressure. Indeed, it looked as if Racing had survived the early onslaught and had started to look more dangerous further up the field when they fell behind. A dangerous cross from the Khalsa number eight on thirty two minutes could only be diverted into his own net by Luke Edwards although the attempted clearance was required as surely the Khalsa number nine would have scored anyway.
Wardle pulled off a fine save early second half before Racing upped the anti. A Nick Seabourne effort was well saved by the Khalsa stopper before Tom Smith unleashed a fine shot that grazed the outside of the post. Ty Knight and Tom Smith were more and more involved and looking dangerous but Khalsa survived the revival and James McCready headed in at the far post after another great cross from the number 8 to double the advantage.
A couple more Wardle saves kept the score down before Khalsa did finally get a third with a scrambled effort being poked in by Jack Till on 84 minutes after Racing failed to clear a corner.
Racing ended strongly with Ant Smith hitting a post after coming on for his debut.
