Racing Club Warwick extended their unbeaten run to five against a Wullfrunians side that the Racers had already beaten away this season.
With Tom Smith and Muzzy Nduna missing, both sides played some good football despite the heavy conditions. Wulfrunians had the first attempt with the number 8 shooting from range but James Wardle saved well. Ciaron Houston tested the Wulfs stopper after cutting inside from the right but his left footed striker was also well saved. The Wulfs 10 then run the length of the pitch before Wardle parried the shot away.
Nick Seabourne headed goalwards but the keeper just managed to keep the ball out after it kept low in the boggy conditions. The resulting clearance from the keeper found the number 10 again and his rasping shot was well saved by Wardles feet. Danny Dubidat then did well to get a shot away but it was straight at the keeper before a Adam Miles header was also straight at the keeper as the half ended.
Second half and again despite the conditions both teams entertained. Wardle was called upon to make a good double save. Houston then came close on two occasions. The first a speculative effort from thirty yards and the second saw Tory Herbert pick him out before he unleashed the shot of the game that the keeper did well to tip over. Shouts for a penalty were waived away as the ball bobbled about the Wulfs area as Adam Miles unleashed a shot from eight yards out that somehow was blocked and out for a corner. The remainder of the game was end to end and both had half chances that were snuffed out by the respective goal keepers.
Racers host Romulus on Tuesday night.
