Racing Club Warwick travelled to Wolverhampton looking to avenge their FA Cup defeat a few weeks back and came back with all three points.
Racing started with Rich Powell back at left back and Ryan Boothe started up front with Trea Bertie and Danico Johnson. Charlie Bannister pulled off a fine save early on before Jumaane Meggoe put the Wulfs ahead after Racing gave away possession in dangerous area in the eleventh minute. The hosts were on top with Racing's best opportunities a few scrambled efforts and shots that were blocked. As the half wore on Racing picked up a Bertie long range effort was pushed away and Johnson's effort was blocked.
Second half and Racing were gifted an equaliser on 48 minutes. A speculative long ball was missed by the keeper and substitute Troy Herbert picked up the ball and squared for Boothe who tucked the ball away under pressure. Herbert then had a shot tipped over and from the resulting corner Bertie hooked a shot just over the bar.
Racing were now on top but Danny Fraser had to clear off his own line before man of the match Powell almost got onto the end of a Kevin Thornton free-kick. It was a free-kick that decided the game though after Bertie was chopped down on the edge of the area. Danny Fraser whipped in the ball and Rudy Misambo rose to power home a header for his first Racing Club goal.
Racing host Haughmond on Saturday and Coventry Sphinx on Tuesday evening.
