Racers with it all to do now
Racing Club Warwick suffered a blow to their promotion hopes as they were comprehensively beaten by leaders Heather.
Warwick were without Charlie Bannister, Richard Powell and Luke Cole as they looked to apply some pressure on Heather, who were unbeaten in 20 games, but more importantly remain above Atherstone in the promotion slots.
Heather started well and had a shot blocked before the resulting corner saw an effort just over. The home side had a couple of dragged shots wide before taking the lead after some poor defending from Racers with Dean Rathbone capitalised on Racing not clearing the ball with three attempts. Heather were having the clearer opportunities and the travelling Racing fans there in good numbers must of wondered what was going on.
Second half and Simeon Cobourne got away from Marc Passey but his shot was hit wide before the Heather marksman coolly rounded Richard Morris after Jamie Coleman's header back failed to reach the stranded keeper.
Adam Knight came on and caused a few problems for the away side twice but chances were few and far between for the Racers and with Racing now having to push on they were time and again exposed at the back. Cobourne missed a sitter before Chris Lloyd wrapped things up with a nice finish after running through from half way.
With Atherstone wining Racing will now likely need to win their remaining four games and rely on Atherstone dropping points in one of their remaining four games to clinch second spot and promotion.
