Racing Club Warwick secured a win in blistering heat on 3g against Black Country Rangers.
Warwick started brightly and a good save from the Rangers keeper prevented Bertie from scoring. A Sam Beesley cross saw Leaver head just wide and a Bertie cross from the right was met by Malley who's header went over the bar. Bertie almost scored but another good stop from the keeper kept the scores level. On 36 minutes a super through ball from young debutant Rheece Cleary set Bertie through and his clever faint put the keeper on the floor before he lifted the ball over him to take the lead.
Good Rangers pressure was thwarted by Rich Powell and Sean Castleton making up the centre half pairing and keeper Ryan Young was in commanding form when called upon.
Warwick doubled their lead when another debutant Ross Quatermaine coolly fired home on 68 minutes after his firs shot was blocked.
Rangers pulled a goal back a minute later with a good driven goal and Neil Stacey on for Young saved well twice to deny Rangers another goal.
A fine headed Leaver finish wrapped the game up for Warwick who now move onto Tuesday nights game at Coventry Plumbing before entertaining Coventry United on Saturday and Rugby Town the following Tuesday.
