Stage two of the boards plans starts with replacement roof

It may not look much but it heralds the start of a proposed £200k of investment into the club to provide a new sports clubhouse and to completely refurbish the old room to become a function and community space. With stage one now complete, which also saw over £200k invested to update the football facilities at Townsend Meadow, this next stage marks the start of real community benefit. The club, on top of having a top end function room for hire, will use the refurbished room to entertain charity and community activity. Chairman Gary Vella said 'It has taken a while for the next stage to begin, and a lot of hard work from several parties, but we will now start to see the fruits of our labours over the past two years. Not only does it secure the financial stability of the football and sports club but it also brings a whole new aspect of 'community offering' that we will provide onsite. This really marks the beginning of something special for us all at the club and in the Warwick community as a whole, and we are proud to have reached this exciting point'. On top of the clubhouse refurbishments there will also be an efficient LED floodlit training pitch built where the community's clubs can train in safety. Activity on the pitch and can be viewed from the new viewing area inside the community building. The club already hosts a children's nursery and sports businesses on-site. Gary Vella added 'We intend to make Townsend Meadow one of the best football community sites outside of the national leagues, both in infrastructure community offerings and in hosting football matches'.
